Specialist Wholesale Growers of Alpines
We now grow over 550 varieties of top quality Alpine plants in 9cm and 1 Litre pots and also in handy 6 packs. Our plants are grown outside, so they are exposed to the cold windy weather we experience on the east coast making them a ‘true to type’ hardy plant. All compost has a pest preventative plus high rates of osmocote slow release 12-14 month fertiliser.
As part of the Gedney service, we will hand select the best plants that we can, prepare them, pack them into trays (20 plants per tray for 9cm, 8 plants per tray for 1L and 28 plants per tray for 7cm) and load them onto CC trolleys ready for despatch to you. We have our own transport and can deliver nationwide.

7cm Alpines
In 2019 Rae at Cambridge Alpines took the decision to retire and close his business. They were well known for their unique and specialist range of Alpines, an opportunity we here at Gedney could not let slip through our fingers! We wanted to carry on Rae’s legacy. So we worked with him, purchased his stock plants and set to the task of creating our own version of these unique Alpines.
We give to you the Connoisseurs Choice range! Peat free, reasonably priced with a classy but traditional Alpine feel to the range, topped with decorative pea gravel adding a premium finishing touch, perfectly complementing the overall appearance.

1 Litre Alpines
These larger Alpines extend the season and have proved to be a consistently good seller throughout the year. With an ever-changing range as the seasons progress and some promotional lines that you can reserve.

Pre Pricing & Barcoding
All of your retail prices are printed directly onto the front of your personalised label (see below) and the barcode on the reverse, giving you a professional look to your benches.
You can choose either generic or individual barcodes to suit your needs.
Delivery & Availability
We send a weekly availability list out every Thursday evening. You can download it direct from our website, or if you wish to have this emailed each week, then please enter your details by clicking here.
You can also order online using our ‘Easy Online Ordering System’ – This has a real-time trolley builder so can see when you’ve reached a full trolley and also shows you the value of your order as you go along. All plants are graded to determine their growth stages, so you are able to see exactly what you will be ordering and the stage it is at. If you are unsure of a variety you can click on the link and it will display an image and descriptions. For orders that are received by 12 noon on Monday we will deliver the same week.
Our minimum delivery is just 1 trolley, in which we offer free delivery to England and Wales, and a £25 per trolley charge for Scotland. This can be made up with any of the products that we supply.
